Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the merits of football scholarship in his family with community service. The first time Selmon was raised by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon. They lived on the farm close to Eufala located in Oklahoma as the eldest of their nine children. In second football, he was the third brother who were players for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in country by Outland and Lombardi Awards. In three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. Also, they won 2 national titles. A third scholarship saw him named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned a degree in education. Lee Roy spent ten hours every week in volunteer work throughout his time at college. He moved to Tampa after college, was a member of the Buccaneers for nine years and was three-times all-pro. His career in business began. His first job was as an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked in the past for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the most prominent young people in America. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs when he was a student athlete. He played for the team of 1975. He joined University of South Florida in 1993, as assistant director of sports. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. The award ceremony was conducted by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
