Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, philanthropist and television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and relocated to England at the age of 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. Her success as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she completed her studies. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice-portal that provided critical opinions on the state of the nation's politics. The celebrity she enjoyed enabled her to get a variety of famous people to share their opinions regarding current affairs, the culture and politics. Arianna gained fame when she made the decision to contest for a non-partisan position during the California recall election to replace the Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna was also the leader of the Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her as the most influential woman in the field of media in 2009. Her ranking was 12th on the list. The Guardian also included her to the list of 100 most influential media in 2009. AOL Inc. appointed her President of their media company in 2011, after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos, a journalist and management consultant. She was very close with her father. However, it was her relationship with her mother that formed her. She showed leadership traits from the beginning. At the age of 16, she moved from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debate club. As the third woman president, and also the first foreigner she held the position of head for the Cambridge Union. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of master's in Economics. She became a writer, a critic television host, and a columnist after her graduation. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editorial assistance.
