April Ross
April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. She is one of only a handful of female players of beach volleyball who have achieved this feat. Alix Klineman, taking part for the very first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games, will try to earn her third gold medal. Ross hopes to win the Olympic debut gold however, she also hopes for even more. At 39 she could have her last chance. But she's confident top awards are in reach. If we perform at our very best or even if we play well I feel like we'll win the gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. Also, I'll take some chance. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a sister. Ross's athletic endeavors began at Newport Harbor High School where she played in a variety of activities. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball along with basketball, running and track. She was definitely an edge over the other players when it came to the second sport. In her high school volleyball career in her university bio, she was an outside-hitter, middle-blocker and setter. Her efforts were recognized when she was named 1999 Gatorade's National Circle of Champions Player of the Year. The skills she showed in volleyball also brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in 2000. Ross is currently working with Klineman from 2017, but Ross's beach game was well-established long before this. Actually, Ross has won several significant tournaments during her time with two partners. One is a volleyball legend. In the period 2007 until 2013, she was a team with Jennifer Kessy who more recently was Klineman's coach. Kessy and Ross were an impressive force on the world circuit, winning the world championship in 2009 as a team. The duo eventually captured a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the legend team which won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, beat them out to win the gold medal. The fate of the matter was that Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. Both went on to win the bronze beach volleyball trophy at Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. In high school and the years before she hit the sand as a pro Ross played with the Trojans of USC as a collegiate. Ross's Trojans experience was impressive. The year 2000 was her freshman year. was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of Year awards and be an All-American. She also helped the Trojans get to their first Final Four. The Trojans were devastated by a personal tragedy during her second year, but she managed to become an All-American in her second year. In her last two years she led the Trojans to the top of the mountain and took home consecutive national championships. In 2003-2004, Ross was named the best collegiate female volleyball player in the United States according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross was a major in International Relations at USC. Margie Ross was not able to see Ross become the highest beach volleyball level. In 2001 when Ross was in her sophomore year studying at USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. In the aftermath, Ross remains close to her parent who died. And Margie is an ongoing source of inspiration to her on the beach and in the world of.
